Fae backed up quickly, only to find out that the barrier surrounded her, forming a box. The elves had the upper hand now. "Tsk," Fae mumbled under her breath just before the light magic hit her full in the chest. Fae was thrown against the barrier wall and burned badly. Shaking her head to clear it, Fae struggled to stand back up. She transformed back to her humanoid form so that she wouldn't lose consciousness in wolf form. She examined her wound, which took up most of her chest, but it was already steadily healing. The clothes on her chest were burned away, much to Fae's embarrassment, but she quickly ripped off the hem of her tunic and wrapped it around herself.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Sonya looked away for a moment embarrassed as the woman wrapped herself. She looked again to see that the wound was quickly healing. "Tsk," she muttered before sending a stronger attack.
Sonya leaned in again but placed her hands horizontal to each other, and closed her eyes not as tightly as earlier that day. She concentrated hard. If we don't get out of this, we won't be able to find our father! she reasoned with herself.
Fye stared in horror as he saw Sonya attempting the previously failed lesson. "No Sonya! It's too dangerous! It could go haywire aga-" He choked out, but only to slump back into a fetal position as he writhed in pain. I can't stress my muscles like that until they heal!
Sonya ignored Fye's plea even when he started screaming in agony. I'm sorry, but I have to concentrate! She peeked only once to see a ball of light getting bigger and bigger between her palms again.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Fae glared at the elf girl, knowing that she wouldn't be able to escape this wave of magic. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, bracing herself for unimaginable pain.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Sonya concentrated on her light ball even harder when she saw the shape shifter close her eyes. She must be planning a way to elude this!
She looked over at her brother. He was in very critical condition it seemed. Sonya closed her eyes and unconsciously, her mind drifted into a state of pure aggression. She put more and more energy into the ball, until suddenly, she broke out into a rage. The light was going everywhere, somehow missing her and her brother. Again and again she made new balls of light, one always bigger than the other.
When she looked at the shape shifter, there was always a look of pain. Her mind began to waver back to it's original state every time she looked. She blinked her eyes, and was instantly aware of how large this newer ball was. Now back in her consciousness, she started freaking out from all the destruction she had just done. She looked at Fye, but he looked horrible. She couldn't stand to look at her brother laying so helplessly on the ground so bedraggled.
As the ball of light started to waver again, she let out a cry. She had never created one so large before, and now it was going out of control. She looked around, looking for a source to absorb it into, but there was nothing but the now severely damaged shape shifter. She closed her eyes and held her breath as she felt the pain of the light going back into herself.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Fae was panting heavily when the magic was over. Her skin was burned but was healing quickly. She examined herself, checking all her wounds tenderly, before looking at the elves again. The boy was still on the ground, but the girl was standing, panting like herself. The magic must have taken a lot from the elf. Fae breathed in deeply before morphing into a wolf again. The barrier around her had disappeared, so she retreated slowly out the door. She had lost too much energy from the fight and the girl probably had more magic stored somewhere.
"I will be back," Fae growled. She then turned around and fled.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Sonya stared at the woman as she left the cottage, then collapsed onto her knees. Panting, she crawled over to Fye.
"Fye! Come on Fye, get up! The shape-shifter's gone!"
Sonya found the medicine kit that was stored in the house and quickly went to work on her older brother. When she was satisfied with his bandages, that seemed to be all over his body, she made him a pallet on the floor and dragged him onto it. When he drifted into a sleep, she was able to close her eyes for a few minutes and fall asleep.

Re: Enchanted Foresters
Fae ran through the woods, panting with pain. Even with her fast healing body, the wounds she had received were giving her difficulty. After having stopped for the third time to catch her breath, Fae changed back into her human form. "This is ridiculous," Fae complained. "I should have already healed enough to not have any difficulty breathing." Fae looked behind herself. She hadn't been able to escape as far as she wanted. Like this, it would take a whole day to get to the town nearby. "Cursed elf," she muttered under her breath. She breathed in sharply when her chest throbbed painfully.
*************************************************
Finally Fae reached the town she had hoped to. She had recovered a little bit more, enough to have the strength to get an easier meal. Fae morphed into a white cobra and wound her way into town undetected. She found a stable that was near the town's entrance and slid in through a small hole that had rotted through the wooden wall. Instantly the animals in the stable sensed her presence and became nervous. Ignoring the panic she was causing, Fae scented the air, flicking her tongue out. She scented sheep in the back and so slid along the floor keeping close to the the walls. Almost immediately she spotted the ankle of her victim. she raised herself up and struck the animal before it saw her. The venom from her fangs quickly made its way through the beast and ended its life. All the other animals in the stable made a ruckus and soon a man came running in. Fae hid under some straw. The man searched the stable, looking for the cause of the panic and soon found the dead sheep. Confused, the man carried the sheep out of the stable. Fae quickly slid back to and out of the hole she had come in through and followed the man. The man carried the sheep out of the village and Fae nearly laughed out of delight that the man didn't think of checking the cause of the sheep's death. The man deposited the sheep in the woods and returned to his village. Fae changed into her human form and cooked the sheep.
